Exceptional Engineering: Electric locomotive

It seems that the future of locomotives is electric propulsion! At least that's what Siemens thinks, which is why it has started series production of its hybrid and fully electric locomotives in Munich. The great advantage of the Vectrons is that they are environmentally friendly and can be modified according to the customer's needs, so they can run in all European countries. DB Cargo plans to put around 400 electric locomotives into service by the end of 2023, saving almost 8 million diesel fuel per year.
