Cleo is a Swedish drama/comedy TV series in three seasons, each consisting of nine episodes. It was broadcasted on SVT1 between 2002 and 2003. The series is created by Michael Hjorth, Johan Kindblom och Tomas Tivemark at production company Tre Vänner. The name of the series comes from the main character Cleopatra "Cleo" Andersson, played by Suzanne Reuter. When the first episode aired on March 24, 2002 it was watched by 2,2 million people. At the 2004 Monte-Carlo TV Festival Cleo won three awards in the comedy category, Outstanding Actor, Outstanding Actress and Outstanding European Producer.
Talented Saville Row textile pattern designer Kate lives in the quaint village of Blexford, England. Unbeknownst to Kate, her best friend Laura signs her up for The 12 Dates of Christmas – a holiday-themed matchmaking program in the days leading up to the holiday featuring carefully curated, yuletide dating experiences, in an attempt to get Kate out of her rut. Lovingly coerced by Laura and longtime best friend Callum, a reluctant Kate ultimately gets into the spirit of the program and is caught off guard when she meets someone who reinvigorates her zest for life.
The story begins when the main character, Tomo, who is liked only by men who have a girlfriend, starts a service called “Subscribe Kanojo” on SNS. It depicts the intertwined love lives of women who become “girlfriends” through a monthly subscription system.
Kyutaro is a swordsman who was feared by people at one time. Now, he is poor and lives alone quietly. Kyutaro doesn't know how to earn money without using his sword. By chance, Sakichi happens to see Kyutaro's swordsmanship and offers to hire him for a job.
