Youth News Network

The Youth News Network was a failed venture by Athena Educational Partners that attempted to create a daily news program that would be broadcast into high school classrooms across Canada. Much like the more successful Channel One News service in the United States, Athena hoped that YNN would be able to generate revenue by selling commercial time during its daily classroom broadcasts. The idea of showing commercials in the classroom proved to be very controversial -- YNN met strong resistance from a variety of groups. The service was eventually banned from being shown in schools in six provinces. In response to public pressure, Athena announced in May 2000 that it would show public advocacy messages instead of commercials. At some point in 2001 the company ceased to exist.

Saksi sa Dobol B

Saksi sa Dobol B is a morning news and talk program aired by GMA Network flagship all-news radio station DZBB-AM, hosted by Mike Enriquez. The program premiered on January 4, 1999 as a spin-off of Saksi, a television newscast that Enriquez also hosted at the time. The program airs for four hours on weekdays, running from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The program was also simulcast on the GMA News TV channel as Dobol B sa News TV upon the christening of the said network. However, for some unknown reason, the simulcasts ended on 7 September 2012; instead GNTV aired reruns of "Front Row" and "Reel Time" on the timeslot formerly occupied by "Dobol B" as it would make way for a new morning show Kape at Balita.

Kabataan Xpress

Kabataan News Network is the only show in Philippine television that is written, shot and produced by teens. This weekly 30-minute program involves a fast growing network of young reporters all committed to making the voice of the youth heard. Presently, there are more than 160 KNN reporters, aged 14–19 and stationed in 12 bureaus nationwide namely Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Metro Davao, Mountain Province, Zamboanga del Sur, Camarines Norte, North Cotabato, Capiz, Sarangani, Dumaguete,San Jose, Mindoro and Baguio. KNN was created to empower the Filipino youth to pursue their passions and use their talents to draw attention to a diverse range of issues that affect them and what they feel strongly about. No topic is too small or too big for the KNN reporter. Celebrating your debut and public display of affection are just as important as child labor and HIV/AIDS. Thanks to their partners, United Nations Children's Fund and the Probe Media Foundation the KNN reporters honed their skills in television production. UNICEF provided the necessary tools like camera, tripod, microphone, and other tools while PMFI trained the reporters how to develop stories, write scripts and use the equipment. The KNN reporters do all the hard work with a little help from their adult bureau managers. They brainstorm and discuss topics for their reports and research about them. They shoot, do the interviews, and log the shots. They also transcribe interviews, prepare shotlists, and write the scripts themselves. The best part of the job is they're enjoying it! They know their peers would enjoy KNN, too because the stories they make are the ones most important to them. KNN is child participation at its finest. It is truly by the youth, for the youth. Catch the KNN reporters together with hosts Atom Araullo and Chiyomi Rances

Breakfast News
TV

Breakfast News

Breakfast News was a breakfast news show which first aired on BBC1 on 2 October 1989. The programme was previously known as Breakfast Time. It was planned to launch on 4 September 1989 and again on the 18 September but was held back due to technical issues with its new studio The programme went through three main visual changes. The initial look lasted from launch in 4 September 1989 to 12 April 1993. The 13 April 1993 revamp saw the programme presented from the same set as the One, Six and Nine O'Clock News bulletins. A further and final revamp took place in June 1997 when 'BBC' was shorn from its title, and on-screen it became known as simply Breakfast News. It was during this final period that the tone began to shift, with the return of a sofa set, alongside more features, and more interaction between the presenting team. The final edition of Breakfast News aired on 15 September 2000, and on 2 October 2000 it relaunched as BBC Breakfast.

Aktuellt
TV

Aktuellt

Aktuellt is a Swedish nightly news programme produced by Sveriges Television and broadcast on its second channel, SVT2 in Sweden. First broadcast on 2 September 1958, Aktuellt was Sweden's first television news programme. With the start of TV 2 in 1969, the Aktuellt brand disappeared but was revived in 1972 when TV1 began airing two main bulletins at 6pm and 9pm. The 6pm bulletin was moved to SVT2 in 1997, followed on 15 January 2001 by the 9pm edition. The year before, editorial responsibility for Aktuellt, Rapport, and SVT's news channel, SVT24, was unified; nevertheless, the name "Aktuellt" continues to be used to designate SVT2's news programmes. A relaunch of Aktuellt in November 2007 saw Rapport begin a 6pm bulletin on SVT1 while the sole 9pm Aktuellt programme relaunched as an in-depth news and current affairs programme, covering two of three main items in detail. On 5 March 2012, the programme was extended to 60 minutes.
